Ingredients:
250 gms torai / spring gourd
1 tbsp pure ghee
1/4 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp catch sabzi masala or black pepper powder to taste
1 cup milk
salt to taste
Method(vidhi):
- Peel, wash and cut spring gourd in desired shape. Keep aside.
- Heat pure ghee in a pan and crackle carom seeds (you can use cumin seeds if you don't like carom seeds, i have used carom seeds),
- Add spring gourd, salt and turmeric powder stir for a while and add approximately 1/2 cup water to it.
- Let it cook till the water evaporates and the spring gourd becomes soft.
- Now add milk and cook till you reach desired consistency.
- Add sabzi masala or black pepper and mix well.
- Serve hot with chapaati or parantha.
Note:
- You can make the same recipe with bottle gourd as well.
